Nice work DR & Cat! Hoping for some Spoon & Crockpot action myself come Friday with one of my boys.......... will post if we're successful. That hunting by boat would be neat.

WMU-349, Oct 1st 2024, hunting in the rain.
I called this bull with raking and bull grunts.
Shot him with .35Whelen, 250gr Hornady IL.
That's my buddy Jordan in the first pic and then at his shop.
In the 4th pic you can see the bullet hole right behind the front leg, it was recovered from the hide on the right side.
Might not get out to hunt deer, so figured why not throw out these pics, might be all I got this year.

Congrats to everyone who’s had a successful harvest this year—great to see the hard work paying off! And for those still out there, best of luck, and may the big one cross your path soon. Thanks! Tried for them once last year but weather got the best of us before we got to the top of the mountain. We lucked out today. Needed one for my tail fan display.

I need one in the worst way to complete my wall collection.
Please post a picture of your fan display once complete....i have kept all my fans the last 6 years in my freezer for the same project for my and the boy to do some day.

Knocked down a sausage doe in archery season as I have a 12 year old this season that is trying to get his first big game animal. Figured whitetail season would be spent guiding him mostly.
Had him out opening day. Saw a dozen deer, 1 bull moose and he passed a young buck at last light.
Second night of the season, I had to bump him outta the way and take a golden opportunity when a bull elk walked out onto our whitetail field.
143gr eldx out of the 6.5prc
166 yards.
1 shot
Both lungs grenaded the bull tipped over in less than 5 seconds.
I wish so much i had bought him an elk tag. We did not expect to see one there, or that would have been a heck of a first animal for him to take.
You better believe he has an elk tag in his pack now.
Hopefully, I'll post a pic of my boys first deer here soon. Now our freezer is healthy, so I'll step back into the guiding roll where I was.
