Like I said whoever has the ball last usually wins, Ticats could've come up with other ways of running down the 28 seconds other than kicking it to DeVonte Dedmon.

Redblacks needed a home win badly.

Yep, pretty bad decision on that kick-off.

The West will likely cross over to the East for a playoff spot.

Unreal. Couple plays go differently and that could have been a totally different outcome. Patterson did look a bit better in the 2nd half, but it's going to be a tough go until Harris is back.

Once Patterson settled down in 2nd half i thought he did pretty good. Five turn overs by T O helped.I hope the Riderrs can develop QB's Coan and Barrier , they have impressive stats in college. Don't really care if Harris comes back, he is prone to injury and now he has two bum knee's. He has being on the 6 game injured list 3 times in the last four years.

The Calgary candy strippers almost pulled off a win until Montreal started playing for real in the 4th.

Montreal going to be a tough nut to crack this year

Go Riders!

Lots of good games this week although the Riders lost Patterson looks like he’s getting into the groove BC’s receiving core made some outstanding catch’s the seasons heating up. The Elks almost made it gone in eight seconds has a new meaning in Edmonton.

Brutal. Edmonton has lost all 5 games by an average of four points. Three straight in dying seconds FG's. Bede wears the goat horns, the out of bounds kick off was barf terrible but he was wide left on a 31 yard FG attempt in the fourth also.

Elks going 0-6 is a fantastic start… meanwhile the Riders stay perfect at home and get past the Bombers. Cant say much for the Bomber hit on the last play but at least nobody totally lost their heads. I love the Riders and have followed them for years but have to wonder when their big slide will start??

Well the Riders looked good tonight. Defence is solid and the young pivot is learning rapidly.
EE still suck.

First half was pretty well played by Riders , the second half was sad. Not a point..zilch. Patterson looked like he was in a daze , not much time to do anything. The swing passes parallel to line of scrimmage and the two yard pass and run was not working and Montreals D was all over it. Sure coulda used the two missed FG's. Gives me skull cramps. Riders let the game slip. Classic example of being badly out coached. Edmonton coming to Regina for August 3rd game. GO GREEN

Toronto and Bombers go down to the wire and both coaches made some rather strange decisions.
Toronto leading 13-6 with 4:25 left in game has a third and one at the 35 , they go for it and get stopped. Why no FG to go up by 10 points ? Bombers quickly score a TD and tie game 13-13. back and forth a bit and not to be outdone they are 3rd and 1 @ T O's 22 yard line with 0.50 on clock. FG for sure.......nope concerned about the .50 seconds and went for it and stopped. Ended up losing in OT. But good to see Bombers keeping Eskimo's company in the basement.

Thinking Edmonton might win a game today...maybe

Giants released Nathan Rourke. I'm assuming he'll be headed back to the CFL then?

I’d be surprised if he came north this year. I can’t see him coming back till next year. He’ll try to get on with another NFL team this season. Generational Canadian QB that is getting caught up in the NFL politics. Guaranteed he is better than a bunch of backups and could probably start on a few teams down south. When he does come back to the CFL, the Brinks truck will be backing up to his bank account.

Well, that's what I thought too. He's too good not to play.

But, then I read...
-Jacksonville, spend most of the season on their practice roster, cut halfway through the season;
-Finished the season with the Patriots, didn't play; and,
-New York Giants, cut three days into camp, no reps.

Hasn't played a game down there, let alone sat on the bench as a backup. I'd love to see the guy given a chance, but it doesn't seem to me like it's gonna happen.

Eskimos, halfway though the 3rd, down 28-8.

And thats the NFL politics coming into play. He got into a preseason game with the Jags and lit it up. Was all over the sports highlights but they still made him the 3rd string QB. NYG signed a CB that they are in need of help in that dept. Rourke was the odd man out.

He’ll eventually come back to Canada. He’s in his prime earning years so he needs to make a decision. When he does come back who tosses him the most money is the question?
