- Prepped 50pcs of 300H&H brass.
- Loaded 50 rnds of 275 Rigby
- Loaded some sighter loads for the 222 using Hornady 55gr FMJs. Looks like they won't be used much in that rifle. 4 inch groups.
- Went through all the extra MTM boxes in the ammo stash from rifles that I no longer own. Pulled the bullets, saved the powder and primers for the next big project.
- Found 150pcs new R-P 257 Roberts brass that I didn't know I had and put them on-line for sale.

Default Concentricity Gauge

Made a concentricity gauge 3D printed. For now will used the cheap dial until I get a better one. Seems to work well. Time will tell. Cleaned and prepped about 100 .223 brass to ready for loading.

Got both benches put back together, shud really put some drywall up before setting things in place, and have to do a bit of sleuth work on electrical for a couple of plugs on the one wall. Put a new top on the old NMRA bench, previous homeowner left an adequate sized piece of formica that was just big enough to do it, white marbly looking stuff, like it a lot. Picked up 3 cheap large lockable cupboards to store some stuff in. Will make for a cleaner setup. Picked up an A&D scale to add to clutter on bench, thinking maybe to put both along one wall, make it 16ft, shud be enough space.

Finally getting around to shooting a new to me 6x47 that I received in trade from a friend a few months back.

I attempted to make my third consecutive day to the range this morning, hoping to do a seating depth test, but it was already too windy. Ended up having a nice chat with another fellow there.

I've prepped approx 120 cases (from Nosler 222 Rem Mag), fired 50 or so and have another 60 ready to go.

Benchrest league starts tomorrow night, I'm far from having a load worked up but going to give it a go. Should be interesting first night with the wind we've been having.

Loaded a few 6mmBR rounds to try different neck tensions. Preparing a rifle for chamber casting. Cleaned a few barrels my least favorite job.

I 'fabricated' a pair of wind flags. Everything but the springs was on hand, not bad for $3 I think. Hoping they help as I move to the 200m line for bench rest league.

Blew up an airbed and slept down there in the cool basement. Always makes me smile to wake up next to a bunch of guns.

Set up the dies and loaded 25 rounds for my new to me 40/65, half paper patched and half greasers for fire forming .
Still figuring out the paper patch thing, I have always used lubed bullets.

Sorting through a bunch of old boxes and for tools and stuff, basically getting ready for a swap meet to give them away.
Cast about 200 paper patch bullets and will roll them this evening.

Brought my 22-250 AI back from the dead, thanks to some advice from David Tubbs. Thought the barrel was gone but alas 2.5"x 2.5", 15 round group @ 300yds. Not bad for a barrel that was shooting about 4" at a hundred yds. last week. With zero load development, just swapped bullets from BT to flat base. Hope I can get a thousand more rounds down the tube until it is really shot out. Might try his barrel polishing bullets in the near future see if they are up to the hype.

Sometimes the internet can be your friend.

I posted this question in the 6.5 thread but thought this thread , with experienced re-loaders may know......
I went and ran low on H4350 for 6.5 Creedmore and was able to get my hands on some Win StaBall. Wondering if anyone has loaded this powder and your thoughts ? Claims of increased velocity.....??? Got 4lbs coming tomorrow.
Thks

IIRC I had a 3MOA gain in elevation at 1K with 140's when I switched from H4350 to Staball, that is pretty substantial!

Yes 6.5 Creedmoor out of a 30" McGowan barrel .
I will gave to check put I am pretty certain I dialed that much back .
However that's not all be because of the velocity gain either ( which was noticeable ) but
The point of impact may have risen because of barrel node change .
I have noticed that before when changing bullets or powder .

Installed my new Kalix Teknik cheek riser on my T1X.

The finished product.

They have a lot of different models for synthetic stocks.

I ordered a set of pin gauges so I can check the threaded muzzle and barrel end of my T1X and see if the threaded portion is oversize compared to the barrel behind the muzzle threads. If it is I am going to take it to a gunsmith and have the threaded portion cut off and a re-crown done. I am thinking I want the bullet to "see" the tighter portion of the barrel as it leaves the muzzle - if indeed that is the case.

Finally (after 10 months or more) I got a pet rifle to load and feed properly. It was sold as a 6mm International, yet came with 6mm -250 dies which only had a .22 sized hole in the die . I could load and shoot the rifle but was very hard to load the rounds and only worked well with virgin 22-250 Lapua brass. Anyhow after scratching my head and getting advice from several AO members I kind of gave up and ordered a new barrel in 6BR.

Well Long story short I just hated the idea of letting this rifle win, SO.. I figured I had nothing to lose, so grabbing all my spare dies etc. I did some Macgyvering, and low and behold between, necking up new 22-250 Lapua brass with a 21st. century 22- .243 expander mandrel, shaving a shell holder down to near zero, sizing the brass in a 250-3000 Hertzer die (shorter then RCBS dies) (so I could bump the shoulder back about 0.0625") Tapping the sized brass out with a Lee .243 depriming pin. Then seating bullets with either Bonanza bench rest die (250 Savage) for Flat Base 68 grainers or an RCBS 6mm International die for the 68gr. boat tail bullets.

I know it sounds kinda weird but it is actually pretty easy once you figure out all the proper steps. It turns out the rifle was chambered in 6mm Walker ( International?) As best as I can tell with a few odd tweeks from the Donaldson round and maybe a little 6mm-250 thrown in for good luck.

Just waiting for the stock to get back from being painted in Ontario. (Wednesday I hope) Then off to the range to see if she shoots as good or better then it did before. Once the brass is fire formed I will adjust the Hertzer dies one last time and call it good.... For now.

Trimmed 51 7mm SAUM and unknown amount of .260 brass out of 200 last night. About to go finish the rest of it. Tonight I should be able to get load developing 180 eldm for the 7mm saum, then 130 eldm for the .260

Just off Amazon. A cheaper set. Hopefully they will be accurate enough for my purposes. I will mic them when they arrive.

I probably would not order these if I was doing precision machine work.

I order mine from Meyer Gage. They sell them individually which makes it reasonable cost wise to purchase.

I just threw about 4 hours of brass prep down the toilet.

Working on my Rem 6x47. I had just finished the final step of brass prep when I lifted the tray to move over to where I had my primer setup, bumped the tray on the bench vise and all 36 cases went flying.

I had sized them with three different neck tensions, something I've never done before so it took me awhile, I was being as precise as I could.

12 - FL die with expander
12 - FL die, no expander with Sinclair mandrel
12 - FL die, no expander with K&M mandrel

I spent awhile trying to sort them by measuring the neck OD, but had very little success. The necks don't seem very consistent in their sizing with differences showing from the mouth to the junction of the shoulder. Part of the reason for this I think is because I tried to set the mandrels so they stopped short of the donut. I now think this may have been a waste of time?

Ugh, might be time for a drink.

Spent 4 hours at the range testing loads, then home and cut 300 wads for the Sharps, cleaned and tumbled 20 pieces of 12 gauge brass, and 60 pieces of 40/65 brass, and primed them.
