Talking skeet fun with ML guns

Well, how long do you think it takes a full squad to shoot a round?
20 minutes1/2 hour, maybe?
Well, not if one of the shooters is using a muzzle loading shotgun!
I jumped in when I could with the guys today, I wa shooting a new-to-me Beretta Silver Anniversary model, one of 1,000 made.It shoots just fine, if not super slow to load!
The boys were about three stations ahead of me for the most part, I'd shoot my station then jump back to the bench and re-load, then jump back in when the squad had finished their station, using a 1oz. square load , about 2 /2 drams
great fun, lots of smoke and busted birds - I've decided to shoot this gun at the Pointer party this year, it handles and fits me so well!
Pics re not up yet, but I will have some tonight!

BTW, this gun is an O/U, NOT a SXS - it helps if you clear the top barrel with the PROPER hammer!!

These rigs are very good for keeping the bug problem in check!

There was enough smoke, though not as thick as some that I have seen.It also seemed quite loud compared to the smokeless shotguns.

The pressure curve is much slower with blck, and Ii think this is why it sounds louder, but I think the decibel readings would be higher with smokeless, simply because I was shooting a light charge - the same reason fro not as much smoke as some.
Southernman, Steve was a bit off center to get the best pic of the smoke, I was actually hoping he was going to be able to get it when I broke the clay, but he got more of me in there - hope his camera is okay and didn't break !

Hello Cat:

Are you gonna take that smoke poker of yours out hunting?

That could also be bunch of fun.

it's gonna be in the starting line up at the Pointer Party this year!
Probably take my Westley Richards hammer gun again , didn't shoot it last year, but maybe this year!
I've got so many BP shotguns ( let alone modern stuff!)
that I have a hard time choosing which one to shoot!
