Default Vangaurd thumbhole big game

i seen this gun on the weatherby custom shop. i really like the feel of a wood thumbhole. i was just wondering if anyone knows how heavy it is? weatherby doesnt show it. oh, and while im at it, how hard is recoil on the thumb and hand from say a 300wm in a thumhole stock?

I wouldn't think the recoil would affect your grip/thumb if you have the rifle braced well against your shoulder
I have a weatherby with a thumbhole stock (only it is in 22-250) and it is lightweight and very comfortable to shoot.

Thumbholes are nice for summer guns (ie. gopher and target) but try to fit your glove in there and you might have a challenge. I love the one on my gopher gun but would never buy one for my hunting gun.

i have the Vanguard Thumbhole Laminate Varmint and i love it. it's pretty heavy compared to my x bolt but at the same time the xbolt doesn't shoot as well. shoulders very well, my gloves never got in the way this winter, although the action leaves something to be desired and can be not as smooth as it should be...
