I've heard a number of supposed causes for an antler to be nontyp , genetic , injury to a leg , etc .. could a dental injury ( loss of teeth ) be one ? Cleaning up my mule deer skull and found he lost molars, possibly from a horn to the jaw ... gotta hurt..
I would say no. I’ve killed a bunch of deer with facial bone and dental injuries that were typical. I don’t think non typical antlers have much to do with injuries. Deformed or stunted antlers, yes.
