They have had thermite grenades for decades.
Not really an anti-personnel thing though; more of a demolition tool.

You would have to ask RFK who the “us” is he is referring. I suspect he means the USA.

I can't see a war being fought for farmland in Ukraine. Resources including farmland are only valuable if in right location. I have bitumen oil on my place and I'm no Jed Clampet.
Good farmland in lots of places is not worth much because of where it's at.

You should study Ukrainian history? Ukraine is the breadbasket for Europe. Many wars have been fought over the Ukraine over many centuries…….

I know that but honestly it's worth more to us if it's out of production and covered in landmines.
There is great farmland in other places and it's not worth anything.
Production isn't what makes farmland valuable. It's about location, infostructure and market access.
Iowa isn't special because of its soil or weather. Haha I think every acre in Iowa is probably $40,000 Canadian now or something stupid.

The value will be kept in check by keeping all russian money out in the future. Currently Finland is putting through new laws that will exclude any russian passport holder from purchasing any property in the country. Not just russians living in russia, but all russians. I'd bet they will only be the first in a long line of countries choosing not to welcome russian investment in the future. If you have a russian passport move along please......

Haven’t heard about it. So you are saying that a citizen of Finland is also a citizen of Russian Federation, they won’t be able to purchase property? I cannot see how that could happen.

Yup. That's about it. They realize if you leave a loophole the russians will exploit it. Better to keep them all out.

Kinda scary to think of what could be accomplished with a drone swarm of those over power plants or gas/oil processing and storage. Ukes drones aren't packing big payloads, but, if they can fly low enough over them to deploy that stuff, they can do a pile of serious damage in one application. Think that's the bugaboo of it, is the altitude it has to be deployed at. It'll burn thru most any stuff it hits, tank turrets & decks for example, ignite most anything that can burn in any fashion.
Took RU 11 days to put out Proletarsk, it's got maybe 8 tanks left out of 70+, the other one they hit the other day is still burning, the Moscow power plant is at 50% now, the other one has no gas supply apparently, along with being hit.
Possible that the thermite could do even more damage, faster.
Ukes are begging for money to fund the drone and rocket program expansions though, and US won't let anyone supply bigger stuff that they could use, GB & UK & France get threatened with cuts to other stuff if they do it, so, they don't, until they're told they can. Think at this point they are screwed til after the election in the US. Lot of promised stuff not del'd yet doesn't help.

There is no way they can restrict citizens of Finland from purchasing property in Finland, regardless of what other citizenships they hold. That would be nuts for a democratic country. From a Reuters article:
The proposed ban on real estate purchases would exempt dual citizens and Russians with permanent residence in Finland or other European Union nations, and is subject to expert consultations before a later vote by parliament.

"Hakkanen said that the ban will not apply to dual citizens or Russian citizens with permanent residency in Finland or any other EU country. However, the defense ministry’s statement said that it will apply to people “who are owned or influenced by citizens or entities” from Russia, a vague description that is not explained in more detail.
A pretty vague description that leaves a ton of room for interpretation. Their country, their rules.....and it looks like Norway is following Finlands lead. Seems like the closer you are to russia, the less you trust rusians....especially since they've invaded most of their neighbors at one time or another.
"Norway plans new measures to stop Russians buying property unchecked"
When you actually talk to many russians you'll find that they find some way of justifying russias war on Ukrainians, which is a round about way of saying they support it.

We will see what happens. I doubt they will put any restrictions on citizens of their own countries. Even residents. I’d trust Reuters over Euronews too.

Have you considered that most of the neighbours invaded Russia at one time or another?

What about others who support it? By others I mean Canadians, Americans, Euros, Ukrainians, basically everyone else. What about those who simply don’t care, because it is a round about way of saying they support it according to some?

With all the Russian collusion stuff firing up yesterday over Tenet and Tucker and Pool and Rubin etc, this seems to be an appropriate addon to the whole deal, DOJ/FBI report on Russian influence programs. Would probably be interesting to see a report of the west's influence campaigns, they are doing their fair share as well, no doubt.

Does Moscow remind you of Ottawa? Haha CBC remind you of anyone? Oh my surely the rest of Canada will wake up and vote in Pierre Poilievre. One good thing about internet is it takes away from what used to be regular journalists and their monopoly on news. Example Pierre Poilievre can bypass them. Trump is a better example.
My mother used to work in the newspaper years ago. Way the papers were years ago they were either liberal or conservative depending on which party advertised the most. That and the more rural papers got grant money from whatever party was in power which influenced the papers.

Appears Scott Ritter is quitting working for RT & Sputnik now. Wonder who's paying McGregor...
Now there are folk claiming the DOJ fabricated this Russian propaganda deal.
The folk they are accusing are all doing a Sgt Schultz style denial.
Saw the CNN blurb on Syrsky today, he is not good interview material.
Peskov was saying they absolutely will not institute a draft in Russia,so, that'll probably be happening a lot sooner than later.
Belarus jet shot down a stray Russian Shahed drone.

Assuredly the information payed to be disseminated was more factual than what the MSM or DOJ has produced in years....

I just had to look at this, to see what the raschists have to say about it, they love these indictments, calling the Tenet folk "heroes who had a lot to lose, and did". "they were dissidents in Soviet Union and left, now they are dissidents in USA". It is funny, very Russian, on real Russian media;

Lots of further developments now that appear to be escalating the war instead of heading towards peace.
Putin bringing in the 10,000 DPRK soldiers to the Kursk region in response to Zelenskyy's occupation there. Sets the standard for foreign involvement.
Now lame duck Biden gives the go ahead for Zelenskyy to use USA long range missiles (Atacms) on the offensive and that has happened as of yesterday.
Zelenskyy was talking about peace talks being possible once Trump was elected and the writing was on the wall that he will be cut off from the war chest.
What will Trump do without completely capitulating to bring peace? What is Putin thinking? I would say Zelenskyy is crapping his pants now. Will he lose the Donbass? Should he in the name of peace? No matter how you slice it, the Donbas is complicated. My friend from Kharkiv just wants peace for his family that is still there. He is of Ukrainian ethnicity and his wife is Russian. He took her last name to be less troubled when he lived in Kharkiv.

No idea what Trump or Putin will or won't do. Biden and the missile issue may be a PITA for Trump one way or another, is he sabotaging Trump or not? Ukes are already hitting all kinds of stuff in RU anyway.
Vlad apparently has big labour shortages, Ruble is at about a penny now to US dollar, inflation has supposedly begun to skyrocket, last I saw was 28% interest rates, couple of banks are in big trouble over real estate. Claims he's printing money like crazy to prop them up.
Wait and see.

Biden has done nothing but embezzle money through Ukraine since the start. No moves pro or con, for 2 years.
Now, with 2 months left in his term he does something this drastic and stupid?
of course it's to upset the apple cart.

Russian propaganda is pushing the narrative that anything that benefits Ukraine is an escalation.
That any outside help from a nuclear power is a threat of nuclear war.
At the same time Russia has gotten help from China, North Korea and Iran.
Putin said Ukraine having long range weapons from a third party country is a provocation.
All the while Russia pounds Ukraine with long range weapons from Iran and now North Korea.
Russia is sourcing weapons and using them.
Biden preventing Ukraine from using weapons appropriately to help them stave off the evil Putin regime is definitely weak kneed.
If Trump wants to solve this ASAP. He just needs to inform Putin that Ukraine is getting more and even longer range weapons and such weapons will be a free for all against Russian military sites and vodka factories.
If Putin’s wants an out he better think of an excuse that he is leaving Ukraine and stopping all of his illegal and immoral war on Ukraine. That Ukraine will remain a free country.
Otherwise… missiles will be raining down. Trump is a loose cannon and that is a benefit in the world of careful diplomacy.
Russia isn’t going to use nuclear weapons. No one wanted to attack Russia. NATO country were winding down troops and investment in military prior to Russia attacking. The only aggressor is Putin. He is the sole reason for the Russian failure of Sweden and Finland joining NATO.
We can Parrot Putin and facilitate the spread of his propaganda or just state the facts.
Russia attacked.
Russia should leave.
Failure of a weak president now to give Putin Ukraine and then what? Moldova?
Right now Russia is having their military laid waste. NATO is getting a first hand, real time example of how it is to fight Russia.
In turn Russia is weakened around the world such that their support for Cuba has collapse. Their attempts at stirring up many African countries and Syria is getting impacted.
A aggressive militarized Russia that is weakened is good for the world.
There is an important long game at play here and being ignorant of that would surely harm the US in the long run.
A stronger Russia helps China and North Korea and Iran.
