I prefer a minister that hunts.

I would say the changes mentioned in the original post are a positive but not something I would be going wow great job. These are not major changes and are very small issues compared to the many things that should be addressed

I don’t care if he blows outfitters as long as he focuses on what protects or grows wildlife populations

Yes I agree allocation % need to be set agreed upon split without deviation because structure is needed to eliminate waste time bickering

But the complaints will never stop and it will be the same BS every year with slight differences posted he over and over regardless

Really? Game populations have been in decline to lows not seen in decades in areas and that is not a major issue? Someone has the balls to make much needed drastic cuts rather than increasing tag numbers in kinda "wow"? How long have you been in Alberta?

When it comes to Minister Loewen, I will keep my hat on. UCP government is no friend of licensed Alberta hunters.

I have yet to see any party in Alberta or BC for that matter that is. But really the support those with the best representation or who benefits them politically

Actually the most unfriendly government towards hunters I've seen is the Nutley government and her merry cast of nutjobs.
With Alberta's booming population the last 30 years the Conservatives have made some much needed changes to hunting regulations that have created some amazing hunting opportunities in Alberta. Good luck killing a mature mule deer buck here 30+ years ago. 20 years ago chances were far better with some important changes. That is just one example off the top of my head.
This whole CWD cull has been a colossal disaster, nice to seeing someone trying to right the ship finally.
Tough job being a wildlife minister for not that great of pay these days.

Increase tag numbers in the name of CWD.....lot's of whiney hunters (justifiably so)

Decrease tags #'s after far too many years......even more whiney hunters

Create better habitat (ie. logging, burns)...now the leaf lickers are whining

Decrease predation (ie. thinning wolves and cats. Working towards a gbear hunt) leaf lickers absolutely losing their minds

Lot's more to whine about I'm sure but now getting bored of this

Again, tough job. Nice to see a minister taking a few steps in the right direction
Bring on the tracking dogs
