Default Barnes TTSX are amazing

Dropped my bull moose today 295 yards. First shot was a quartering away shot, took his lungs out and exited in front of opposite shoulder and gonzo.

He bucked and ran 10 yards, ran out of gas. Stood there so i decided to chamber another round. This time a little quartering to me. Fell like he had no legs as the shot. Bullet blew apart the bones where the scapula joins, and stopped in the hide opposite side. The petals sheared off but im thinking they did early as seemed 5 wound channels from that shot. One petal exited as there was now 2 holes on that side. Found a third petal on hide as well. But after this picture. They sure hit hard, and mean business. Im a believer. Dont think that second shot would have resulted the same if i had a ELDX in the chamber.

Solid believer in the Barnes after today. Ill jump on that wagon. Only needed the one shot, but there was some bad stuff not 30 yards away , and i would have rather not deal with that lol

Been using the 120 TTSXs in 7-08s since Barnes first dropped them about 16 yrs ago. Up to and including elk. Had them on my moose hunt last month but never had an opportunity on an acceptable bull.

Congrats on the moose. That bullet seems to get the job done, I've never had anything go bad with it. If I wasn't committed to the Trophy Bonded Tips currently, that's what I'd be using.

Enjoy the tenderloins. TC

Three more one shot kills this year in our household with Barnes Ttsx. Daughter shot her mule buck with her 25/06, 80gr Ttsx at 3750fps. Buck wobbled 20yds and dropped. I shot my WT buck at 345yds with my 270 Gibbs and 95gr Ttsx at 3984fps. Hit him hard and down in 10yds. Shot my mule buck with my 25-06 Ackley with 80gr Ttsx and he went straight down. I think the kids and me are now at 17 one shot kills in a row with Ttsx. Speed kills!
