Well done, both of you. Thanks for sharing and I look forward to the story of you helping her fill her first moose tag.
30-30 with a 1-4 scope? Beauty

Thats a fixed 2.5x scope, within the limitations of rifle and shooter I figured that was plenty, and it keeps the rig very light. I told her that if she's still a hunter in 3 seasons I'll get her whatever rifle she wants, and I have a 1-4x that I can put on there in the meantime if her capabilities outgrow the scope.

Funny story about that rifle, it started out a Parker Hale .270 that I got for a couple hundred bucks and just kept trading up. Theres a guy that has an excelent Utube channel on guns called USOG. IIRC I traded him a slightly mollested Jungle Carbine for that rifle a couple years ago. He probably came out a little ahead on that one, but since my kids were getting old enough to start hunting I figured the 30-30 would get more use.

Awesome.

The first one comes hardest, but gets remembered the most.

Good on her for sticking it through!

I remember the feeling of my son getting his first deer. I've never been as excited for any of mine as I was for his.

Congrats to you both.
