Default Cabelas guideware

Looking at some new jackets for this years ice fishing season. Narrowed it down to a striker, eskimo or guidewear. Reviews are tough to find and nowhere does it say how much insulation is in the gudewear jackets. Anyone own one that can share some experience?

Cheers

FXR is better than Guidewear. I wore Guidewear jacket in Yukon when I was guiding. If we moved a lot, it was fine. It was very water repellant. If we decided to sit for hours, I found it cold in the seam where your arm and armpit meet.

I have light guidewear bibs i use hunting. Great if you are moving.

For skidooing and ice fishing I wear FXR. 23 below and 50mph on a sled with no issues. Sitting and fishing it is even better.

I know you didnt mention FXR but I thot Id mention it anyhow as it is the best jacket and bib combo Ive ever owned. And prices are similar.

I ice fish with my sled. I rarely use a tent since I bought FXR because wind and cold to minus 25 becomes irrelevant when I wear it.

I hope this sheds some light on your needs.

Men's StrikerICE Climate Jacket, I went with this jacket and pants a few years back and have no regrets at all.
I even wear them now on stand for hunting season. Super warm, you can unzip the heavy jacket and run the shell if moving lots but I tell ya wind, rain, sleet, snow and the dreaded deep cold it’s a great jacket to keep the elements out.
We went into various outlets to try on these items to ensure comfort, fit etc and settled on the striker ice outfit.

Good luck

I have FXR bibs as well as Motorfist and a motorfist shell. My old skidoo jacket is simply done.
I really dont want to spend another $500 on another jacket.
Skidoo has some good clearance prices right now but colours are not my style.
FXR sale is out of the man size jackets.
appreciate all the feedback.

For striker I have access to the predator jacket for $170 plus freight.
