Default cargo trailer accomodations?

I am considering using a cargo trailer as a hunting sleeper. I can haul my quad, all my gear and sleep off the ground.

I would like to hear your feedback of your experiences with this. Is it pleasant, warm, comfort, convenient and warm. What do you use for heat and is humidity a concern?

I've rigged mine up that way with bunks and a wood stove.
Can sleep 4 comfortably in an 18x8 ft.
I like wood over diesel or propane.
Nice dry heat for wet clothing and you can't run out if wood.
A noninsulated trailer is just as warm as a wall tent.

We have been using our enclosed trailers to haul our camp and then sleep in them for 15 years or more, BIL has a 26' with a forced air furnace from an RV in his, easily sleeps 4, very comfortable and constant temp as the furnace has a thermostat.

Mine is a 22' which can also sleep 4 quit easily, I use a little buddy heater in mine, I had the ceiling sprayed with Styrofoam insulation which helps hold the heat in.

Propane of course is a damp heat but given that we run a generator all night as we also pack deep freezers we both simply have a small turbo fan that we plug in to keep the air circulating, crack the roof vents and it's very comfortable.

Now I have never hunted with mine in late season, we hunt late Sept / early October so it's not really cold at night -5 or so don't know how they would be when it's -25 or more

That's what I would like to build out someday as well.

Some of the build-outs are fairly fancy, but I just want a small counter, cassette toilet, and a way to put bunks in.

For a sink, I wouldn't bother with tanks. There's some good ideas online that show how to use portable water containers, either mounted up high so the water flow is via gravity, or below and pump-driven. Grey water could be collected in a container outside. I wouldn't bother with a shower either; we never use the one in our travel trailer. Maybe an outside shower setup, with a way to hook up a curtain on the trailer's outer wall, I suppose.

I may also put in a HappiJac bed lift, depending on whether IncrediGirl wants to come along too. Then I wouldn't need my travel trailer at all.

For heating, a basic direct vent LP system would work for me. Not sure if I would get one of those trendy Newport ones, but one of those Ashley's should work. I'm trying to keep away from needing batteries to run heat with, plus the sound of a furnace fan kicking in and out all of the time can be annoying when you're trying to sleep. And, if space allows, a little wood stove would be awesome.

I’m not at home so don’t have photos but I did this. Got a small sink, cupboards, stove and vent hood. A diesel heater keeps it warm and cosy.
It’s way warmer than my camper in cold temps. There’s a fold down bunk and I can put a sleeping cot beside it for a second person. There sure isn’t much room with 2 people in it but it’s a warm place to sleep and dry out.

What, no Kachelofen?

Looking forward to seeing the pics when you have a chance. I'm always looking for good ideas.
