With this season over for me I've started thinking about next years plans. I have high priority for moose. I saw a thread on here about moose in 308 being lower numbers than in the past? I can't seem to find the thread. I want to start researching areas and scouting soon. I'm looking for some recommendations' and thoughts on wmu's to start the search for moose. I'm a meat hunter so trophy quality is not an issue.

I enjoyed my 308 hunt, I saw 3 bulls in 3 days of hunting. If size is not a concern to you, 304 has more moose in my limited experience. I drew 308 because I figured I had a better chance at a bug bull there. 300 has lots of moose, but access can be a pain there. Same goes for 310. Some of the biggest bulls I have seen have been in 310, but I just want to hunt, not run around booking days for a November hunt in August…
Early December is a great time to drive around and do moose inventory in the zones your interested in.
