Default Garage heating

I have an insulated single car garage attached to the house and am looking at most efficient way of heating it.

I have been converting it into my hobby area for reloading, archery and small projects and am just using an electric space heater for now but when it gets colder I will need more efficiency,

What are some suggestions. I do have a b-vent free standing gas fireplace how efficient are these?

Direct vent is the way to go for a hobby space, oxygen in from outside and exhaust out, no open flame. When I replaced my house furnace I put the older one (direct vent) into the garage, can heat it up within minutes. Otherwise keep temp at about 55F when I'm not using it to keep stuff from freezing.
One of those diesel heaters are rated 5 to 8K btu and will take some time to heat the place and you will not want to keep them running 24/7.

Default heater

I recently went through this when I had to replace my hot water system. I ended up getting a boiler system as we have in floor heating and got a radiant heater for the garage. if you have inflow heating this may be a possibility, I believe with everything it cost me under $1400 for install and equipment. Heats our 24x22 garage with no problems.

I have my old furnace in the garage, heats my garage to 35 C in 10 minutes if needed. I keep the garage at 10C. Barely notice the gas consumption.
