Try a Co-op?

And by the way, if anyone knows anyone on the board at Co-op, ethanol free gasoline is something important to a lot of their members.

At $9/litre it's not much of a bargain...

For a snow blower probably not. For a chainsaw or weed eater, absolutely! I have been running VP 94 Octane 50:1 pre-mix for 8 years and can't say enough about it. My blower I run ethanol free 91 octane. Store the tank full w/Stabil at end of season and after 6 years no issues.

I am pretty sure Ethanol free at the pumps is illegal now. There are treatments available for ethanol gas for small engines.

Put some fuel in a clear container and add approx 10/ water to it. Shake it really good and let sit for a bit. The water will pull the ethanol out of the fuel and you be able to skim of the ethanol free fuel on top

Go to a rural airport with some jerry cans. Get some 100LL, thats 100 octane Low Lead. It is leaded fuel as a warning for anyone running catylitic converters, but older small engines for power equipment such as chainsaws etc will run fine. Should last a few years in a larger jerry can as opposed to a few month with Ethanol fuel.

I screwed up and forgot and put regular instead of premium in my 5 L can for my 50:1 mix for my Stihls.

Too bad this wasn’t more accurate.

That is not a pre-mix, it is meant for 4 stroke engines. I'm considering it for the lawn mower because ethanol free is so hard to find in this country. I do use the Tru Fuel premix in my chainsaw and bush saw.

I started buying Aspen 4 gas fuel for my small engines a few years back. Its not cheap at $9 per litre but the engines run way better and it lasts a couple seasons. Got really tired of struggling to find ethanol free fuel

I do as well, but I buy either Husqvarna or Stihl fuel.

Just based on recommendations from a YouTube small engine mechanic - the TruFuel stuff is not quite as good, apparently...

That's pricey but if using small amounts not terrible. I use 20L or more of mixed gas a year so would get rather expensive.
On the plus side I go thru it fast enough I don't have many problems.
Corn fuel is pure garbage though. Sits too long it causes havoc in small carbs

Try Co-op. Got some in Sherwood Park last week. Should be other locations too. Their highest Octane only.

Apart from buying expensive race fuel, or off the shelf cans from places like Canadian Tire, there is NO Ethanol Free fuel available at Gas Pumps in Calgary.

The only supplier that I have found Ethanol Free gasoline at the pump anymore in the Province is "Coop Fuels". And its the Premium grade only that is Ethanol Free.

"Calgary Coop" is different than the rest of the province. They do not sell Ethanol free anymore. "Calgary Coop" also includes Airdire, Okotoks, High River, and Strathmore.

So, the closest available at the pump Ethanol Free fuel at a reasonable price is going to be "Coop Fuels" in Carstairs or further (unless you have card-lock).

NPD (?) has fuel for $4.14 per LT. Bought 200 LTS this spring. Fury 108.

Default So would it

Make any difference if I ran premium in my small engines and then only ran the last tank (or partial tank) with this expensive stuff at season end. I currently run prem and only add fuel stab and Seafoam to the last partial tank before I mothball.

I've just come to accept my first start of the season will require priming with a syringe and a bit of pulling. Usually the first start takes 3-4 pulls, afterward it is one pull every time.

There is no way I'd dream of running the expensive stuff all the time

The way the regulations are written, each company/refinery has to maintain an average percentage of fuel across their fuel sales. Seeing how much more regular they sell compared to premium, they could sell no ethanol premium, and still maintain that average. The sad fact ,is that we don't know how much if any ethanol is in the fuel that we purchase, all that we know it that it could be up to 10%.

The big things l that sit for along time get their last tank of the year of no ethanol premium and stabil run into the system.

My weedeaters/saws/blowers get it all the time.

Have had zero start up or carb issues since I learned to avoid ethanol ( 20 years or so ).

Co-op premium bulk fuel from the Carseland terminal is ethanol free. I'm not sure what it is at the pump as they get it from wherever they want through FCL. But central Alberta bulk premium is ethanol free.

But this is only until April 2025. After that, all gasoline will have ethanol. The fines involved are too much. They would put companies out of business.

Oh I realize not pre mix but was referring to the premium non ethanol fuel NOT sold at a pump. My bad for not specifying. I can get 40:1 50:1 or straight 94 octane non ethanol from VP Racing Fuels. I’m fine with pump non ethanol for my 4 strokes. I’m pickier on my 2 stroke machines.
