Default Marantec Garage Door Opener - trouble adding outside keypad

Any garage door opener experts here? I paried an aftermarket keypad to our Marantec MLine 4700 opener. Used the pairing/learning buttons and the keypad worked fine.

The only thing is, after pairing to the keypad, our Homelink button in our car and our remote stopped working. So I re-paired those and then the damn keypad stopped working.

Any suggestions? I looked online and couldn't find anything. If I can't come up with a solution, I may need to bite the bullet and buy the Marantec keypad - but it's about $70 more than I paid for the aftermarket keypad.

Edit: Forgot to say that the aftermarket unit has a 315MHz code for Marantec openers, which should be the same at the remote and vehicle Homelink (I paired the Homelink using the remote).

The remote says 315KHz and the frequency on the receiver module shows the same. The manual says the unit comes with two additional modules at different frequencies but no idea where they are as we didn't install the unit.

I'm going to try pairing both the remote and keypad simultaneously and see if that might work.

I think with the Marantech you can only program one remote; the other remotes are then programmed from that remote using the programming connector.

Can get that here, if you don't have one: https://www.amazon.ca/Marantec-Garag.../dp/B00LXAXY6S

We only have the one Marantec remote which I can pair to the opener using the learn button on the unit itself. The problem is when I do that, it kicks out my after market outside keypad (and visa versa)

I did order that Marantec Keypad you posted the install link to, in case the current keypad and remote don't play nice. Just waiting for my wife to wake up from her nap, as I need a second pair of hands to try and link remote and keypad simultaneously using the opener's learn function.

Behind the battery on the remote and on the back side where the wires to your sensors are.Should be anyway. Not really sure what opener you have.

Right, but once you program the remote, you need to sync the keypad to the remote.

In the video, he shows that sequence at about the 4:25 mark. (https://youtu.be/Gu4wnfu9gRU?si=3gM2KrGAkJiZwdbt&t=267)
  1. Press and hold the #3 button for several seconds until the two LEDs light up on the keypad (on either side of the #5 button)
  2. Press and hold the top button of the remote until the two LEDs in the keypad start to blink
  3. Key in a new keypad code
  4. Press Enter (bottom right keypad button) to complete the sequence

Now your keypad is paired to the controller by having "learned" from the remote.

Yeah, this is why I think I need to use the Marantec keypad instead of the aftermarket keypad. The aftermarket keypad relies on the #7 'learn' button on the opener and then messes up the remote, whereas like you said, the Marantec Keypad is programmed using the remote and not the learn button on the unit.

I'm still going to try a simultaneous programming with remote and aftermarket keypad - just didn't get around to it yesterday.
