Very much a pain. I don’t understand why it can’t be as easy to post pics just like on snow and mud forum.

Give it another try!

So, in this case - your original file extension was .jpeg, not .jpg.

But this one is a bit more tricky too - this file name has a different link altogether in imgur, for some reason... So it's technically https://i.imgur.com/ceFErSW.jpeg

So the link you need is

So it'll show up like this:

I'll write up another post later to show how to make fetching that link easier.

Default IMGUR Image Instructions - As promised!

The advantage of this method is that you don't need to fiddle with the image URL or the image type extension.

For this example, we'll be using this nice moose picture from this IMGUR page.

So, when hovering over the picture of the moose on that page, you'll see that the mouse icon is a magnifying glass, with a plus sign in it, as indicated by the red arrow:

(close-up of the icon):

Clicking on the picture will open a pop-up window with just the picture in it. Kind of like it's been "zoomed":

You'll see that the icon changes to a magnifying glass with a minus sign in it, as indicated by the red arrow:

(Close-up of the icon):

Important: Don't click on the image with your left mouse button at this time!

Now, click on the image with your right mouse button. This will bring up the following context menu:

Now, select the Copy image address menu option. This will save the image address to your clipboard.

Important: Don't do any other cut/copy/paste operations until you have pasted the image address into your post!

Now, in your AO post, click on the Insert image icon:

You'll see a pop-up window, where you now paste the image address that you copied earlier:

Click on OK. Now the proper image address is embedded in your post!

Clean-up: To close the zoomed image in your IMGUR web session, just click anywhere in the picture (where the manifying glass icon shows with the minus sign). Then you'll be returned to the regular page.
