How many centerfire rounds in a year ?
I know shotgunners and gopher killers shoot a pile of rounds yearly. How about center fire rifles . How many rounds would you shoot in a year ? Round count does get up there with those that shoot BR and F class but many shoot their share not competing..

What I've found for me personally over the last few years is that I don't shoot my centerfire hunting / varmint rifles very often, mostly in preparation for hunting season. I haven't been out gopher shooting for a few years, and I'm happy with my ammo for hunting, so I probably put less than 50 rounds of centerfire ammo downrange each year now.
Do pistol / revolver cartridges count? I find that I really enjoy shooting a 44 mag lever rifle a lot (maybe 250 rounds / year?), and a 9mm carbine (probably put 1000 rounds through this year alone), simply based on the fun factor and cost / availability of reloading components for 44 / factory ammo for 9mm.
Before the OIC ban, I put a lot of rounds through my AR at the range too. Hopefully I can start doing that again in the near future.

I go though between 30 and forty pounds of powder every year between the .223, 6mmBR and .308's
Never did track my shotgun ammo consumption, but a 5 gallon bucket of ammo did not last long in 12 or 28 gauge.

before i started reloading, I would shoot maybe 20-30 rounds a year. Now i am more inclined to shoot more . I will probably put anywhere between 200-300 centerfire down range.

I find that I can shoot 100 rounds or more per range trip. My bench rifle I was shooting 50 min per trip, and would usually go with 4-5 rifles. And that is no competitions.
I was hitting the range almost every weekend earlier this year since Feb. Lol I just counted and hit the range 21 times from Feb to Aug.
1610 shots on the chrony in those months, and I know there were more in there that were not on the chrony.
LOL, I shoot too much!

I’ve been trying to shoot more than I previously did. Getting a .223 made it a lot more cost effective and fun as well. I’ll probably end the year around 1,200-1,500 centerfire fire rounds, plus another few hundred rimfire. And try and increase that to at least 2,500 centrefire next year. I’m not a great shooter, but my confidence and hit rate has all increased significantly since when I used to shoot about 200 rounds per year or less.

I don't shoot half as much center fire as I used to. Down to about 2000 centerfire rifle or so from 5000 or so a year when I used to shoot SR benchrest.

Rifle, maybe 200 rounds. Pistols and revolvers, 10-15,000 rounds was peak, but now probably only 6K or 7K a year. It's not an inexpensive hobby.

Wow there’s some high volume centrefire guys here!,
I had a trapping job this spring where one of my target species was corvid removal, ravens magpies n crows. That job I shot somewhere around 400 rounds with my 204R. Plus 22lr. The rest of the year another 2-300 other centrefire rifles mostly target, and there will hopefully be a a few more this hunting season.

I have to many rifles so I try to take a few different ones out each time and each time will be probably be over 200 there, plus my 223 that I always take which will spit a box at least each trip so well over 500 a year not including my pistol carbines. I will take them out when I am a taking my nieces, nephews or new shooters out. The recoil is low, they are surprisingly accurate and are perfect for playing games like battleship. Those will get a few hundred rounds each time I take them.

300-500
minimum 100 through both my main and backup big game rifles. The rest varies with whatever I’m buying/selling/building/fixing.

Like an earlier poster, I bought a 223/5.56 gun to get really comfortable shooting.
Last range trip was a 325 rd box of 22 lr auto match, 40 rounds of quality ammo (first time not shooting bulk fmj) through the 5.56, and 60 rounds through the 6.5 creedmor. 5 rounds through my 06, and that's enough.
My real concern is that for my hunting rifle I can only really feel comfortable for ~10 rounds. Thinking of taking a step down in round category just so I can dial in shots across all ranges. Not sure if others feel the same?
Back to the question, this year my son and I should hit 1000, easy. 90% in the 5.56. Add in 22lr and 9mm and its ~3000

Seems like every time I looked out the window this yr, too windy for what I needed to do, or too farkin hot, or late, by the time I thought of going. I'll have to get busy over this next week, likely go thru best part of 200 rds, sight in a couple of scopes I moved, 3 guns to test loads in. Shot about 5-6 boxes of shotshells at geese so far. May have shot 200 rds of 6.5CM's in other than that.

I used to put 10 - 20 thousand rounds down range annually. These days, it's about 500. Between the price of everything skyrocketing, starting a family, working and other hobbies, shooting has taken a back seat.

When I was shooting a lot and competing, 250-300 rounds every four days or so was not unusual for me, but starting this year I am scaling back big time for several reasons, old age being one.

I’m shooting more 22 lr than I used to. Wife really likes shooting 22’s. This year between 6.5 PRC, 9mm pcc, and 223 I probably didn’t shoot more than 2000 rounds.

Two or maybe three when you could get two tags. Rifle zero hasn't changed in 50 years

Yes, I am. When I’m away or busy, and I miss a week… it shows.
I spend about three months in the dead of winter (read: too damn cold to shoot) building up my stores. Last year at the end of February, I had finished almost 7k total rounds in ten different calibers (added to what was already rolled). And now in almost November, I have around 2500 rounds left.
