Default Preparing Blind

After refining the optimum location over the past couple of seasons, I figured it was time to up my Blind game. Small steps this year, a platform and a shooting ledge added along with some natural cover to enhance it. The view location is an open Aspen stand on one side and heavy old spruce on the other with an annual series of scrapes. November can’t come fast enough

Some deer are starting to show interest in the previous years scrape. Had a cute sparing match of a pair spikers on camera

You will be hunting in style and comfort this season. My daughter and I just put up two blinds to decoy from and the deer are now oblivious to them. Just like you I cant wait for November to get both my kids out there.

That’s awesome, I’ve got a couple of first timers that will be coming. Tight with two people but it will still be great.

Default Sun

Looks great. Good luck. If you're looking for any potential trouble spots, I have no idea if the sun would cause any concern. In that last pic the blind seems to shine a little in the sun. Not something I would worry about but I thought you might appreciate the thought considering all the good work you've done there.

It’s a good call out, this blind is lighter than the one I used last year. Most of the scrape activity last year was 9a-11a and 1-2. I’ll look at it from the deer’s perspective this week when the sun comes back out I’m about to go down and see how it handled the first snow

Is your floor insulated? The only reason I ask, is my FIL built a permanent blind last year, and the floor is hollow, if kids get antsy sometimes it can be a bit loud. With your rug with rubber backing you are likely well ahead of what we had, just an observation to share.

Version 3.0 will be 100%. I have more or the interlocking foam squares which I think I’ll do the whole floor and then put the mat on top under the chair

Good call out

Rubber interlock mates are good until your boots are covered in snow. Makes sure you kick your boots off of snow because that snow will turn to water if you have a heater and if you don't that snow will get crunchy and loud. A hand held broom can help with that. Only reason I know is cause my perm blind had foam mating floor which made in -30 very loud if snow stays on floor.
