Default Winchester Model 1873

A relative in Nova Scotia has a Winchester Model 1873 chambered in 38WCF. According to the serial number it is a 3rd generation, serial number indicates it was produced in 1884. From the stories I've heard, it was brought back to Nova Scotia by relatives who came west to work on the building of the railroad.
It was stored away for many years and has some surface rust on the barrel. He is looking to possibly sell it in the future and is looking for recommendations on somewhere to have the rust cleaned. Can anyone recommend someone in Alberta who would be able to do this? He also has the 3 loading tools for the rifle. Anyone have a rough idea of a value on the rifle and loading tools?
Thanks in advance

Default Do Not

I repeat...... do not attempt to refinish it in any way. 0000 steel wool on the surface rust liberally soaked in gun oil then wipe. Don't touch the wood. also known as a 38-40 Win or .38 WCF.

Default

Been a long time since I bought stuff like this soI'm not current on value. For me because I would only be interested in something I could shoot so the bore condition would determine what I would be willing to pay.
The reloading gear is really cool and would add value to me. To other people probably not as much.

Don't try to restore the gun. Clean barrel with hoppes 9 and oil on a cloth patch for now.

There is always the advertise it for years price or the sell it this week price with someone who is willing to put cash in your hand
