Kind of had the same thing happen to me, with out the clouds. It clouded/hazed up between 10 and noon. The cuts wanted nymphs. Just after noon, I was sitting on the bank having a sandwich and I seen a trout nose come up. I put on a #14 elk hair caddis, casted to the rise and BAM fish on.
