Default Racehorse Tribs - where do they go?

I caught a nice little Cuttie in a Racehorse trib this weekend which got me thinking about where that fish is going to spend the winter. I didn't see any large deep pools on this trib, just deep pockets every so often. Does the entire fish population in that creek move into the pockets for winter, or do some leave for Racehorse/Oldman? Would any return in the spring? Do they spend their whole lives in just one section of a creek, or do they move up and down over the years?

It also seemed Racehorse was clearing out, where are they going?

I didn't get much done at work today, too bust thinking about those fish

I've seen adult cutties trapped in shallow pools in Sep when the water levels go down and there is no way up or downstream for them to go. There is no up or downstream....just the shallow pools. Spooked up Golden Eagles who were literally fishing in a barrel. These fish wouldn't have survived through winter. It is my belief that they spawn in tribs during spring and make their way back to their territorial main streams/rivers. So how come I see adult cutties trapped in dried up tribs way past the time they should have returned to the main water body?
