What a difference between the WestJet planes and LATAM planes! We have never heard about LATAM airlines before our trip to Peru and honestly I didn’t expect much at all. Boy was I wrong!
The seats have way more space especially between the rows, my knees had plenty of room and I was able to fully stretch my legs while I was sitting. That was just an economy class seating. On a flight from Lima to Cusco, we got an offer to upgrade for the premium economy seating with a bit wider seats and nobody in a middle seat for $10.00 each way… the flight attendants were super friendly and helpful, smiling all the time, happy and really a pleasure to watch.
They cancelled our flight from Lima to Cusco that was at 3 pm, we just started to panick but in literally 5 minutes got a email and a update on the LATAM app that they rebooked us on the next flight an hour later….Great service!
But the biggest surprise was the food that they served! for our international flight, we bought some sandwiches at the airport in LA( flight was 8,5 hours) and we ended up not eating those! The airplane food not only it was good- it was almost delicious! The portions were large, fresh, hot and tasty! The dessert- a wonderful chocolate candy truffles! We asked for a few more( wife loved it) and we got it with a big smile too! Same was on our flight back home from Lima to Cancun.
From Cancun we had a WestJet… my knee is still hurting from the pressure of the front seat. The food was typical garbage- a cookies and pretzels… on a 6 hours flight! I had a stomach problems and asked for some ginger ale… got one cup. Asked again later and was told they only serve water now.
So westjet SUCKS big time! We knew it and they just confirmed that again.its just when we have nothing to compare it too- we think its ok.
