Default Lac la biche fishing and boat launch?

Planning to head up to Lac la biche for some fishing over the long weekend. Only done ice fishing in the past, first time fishing the lake in the summer so have a few questions. How is the fishing these days for walleyes? How much FOW are they hanging around? Whats the best place to launch in terms of easy launching, docks and parking? For context I have 17ft deep V fishing boat. Thanks

I was just there with the family this past weekend. I had never fished it before. We stayed at the Provincial Park campground and had launched at the boat launch on the causeway leading to the provincial park. My boat is a similar size to yours and had no issue launching.
As for spots for walleye, we found them hanging out in about 30-35ft of water. We fished near the causeway, also off the east end of Currant Island. Just beware that there is a shallow ledge that goes out a ways past Currant Island on the east end, you can kind of see it on google maps satellite view. It's shallow enough that I'm sure its a prop killer.
Having never been there before, I found both the walleye and pike fishing were quite good both in quantity and size.
Also, got stopped on the water by a fish and wildlife officer. He was friendly, courteous and helpful as well. He did the usual checks and questions, asked if I had any questions for him. I asked him about depths and structure in the end of the lake we were in. He was very helpful and seemed to genuinely enjoy his job.
Hope this helps and hope you have a good time! Report back and let me know how it goes.

Chris

Default Lac la biche and boat launch

Don’t bother trying to put in at Popular Point. I put my 14’ in there the other day and it sucks. Its a shallow and sloppy mess.

pay attention to the wind. mission launch puts you on at a good spot in the lake but most of our prevailing winds will make it not very fun if they kick up. churchill park launch is a pretty decent bet for being partially sheltered.
