Default TFO rod repair

I broke the end section of my 9wt rod last week fishing for pike. Wife was headed into Calgary so I got here to stop in at their shop. She was in and out in 5 min with section replaced. Very happy with their service.

Yup. Fantastic group. Broke my 6wt and 8wt on different day, replaced on same day for $35 each.

Support them however you can as there are no other companies like TFO in Calgary that can offer quick turnarounds. Sage, orvis, gloomis and other will take weeks if not months.

Great outfit. When I was in the biz I was in there one day and a guy came in with waders and everything else on. He was fishing the Bow and broke a tip. He was sure if he could get it done right away but they did and he was headed back to the river again right after. Can' t beat that for service.

I too am a huge fan of TFO rods. I love their rods and their service has always been top notch. I used to manage a fishing store in BC and TFO was the easiest company to deal with in regards to warranty.

Fly rods, warranty is the name of the game, in s.alberta tfo is the best. 30$ and you get the piece then and there ( Calgary) dealt with sage, bit of a pain and more money, and months of not having a fly rod. G.loomis forget it, my Essox 10wt has easily seen over 1000 pike probably upwards of 200 walleye, and some other humdingers of the brown variety. Bought her when she first come out at wholesale years ago........ got numerous sages and gloomis, they seem to collect a lot of dust these days........fear of breaking them

Don’t even have to send the rod in anymore, take a couple pics, with an email, and they send the section you need in the mail.

Smile Boy that's some recommendations

And from people who what they are talking about. BTW I'm glad one of you fellows wrote out the name, I'm so old I'm still in the Russel Sports and Frenche's era, so this will be a welcome new experience for me. There was a time that I was one of the very few fly fishermen in Alberta, I used to meet guys with bait casting rods, worms and lots of spinners. It has been a great change.

We have some of the best trout streams in Canada.

I have to agree with all here, TFO has excellent warranty service. The replaced a top half of my Lefty Kreh 5 wt for $45 when I went to their offices while visiting Calgary from Cranbrook. If I was unable to make it to Calgary it would have been $75, which is still very reasonable but obviously would have taken a little longer for shipping. Having said this, I also had a very good experience with Sage earlier this year. 20 year old rod that was gifted to me broke while fishing in May. I filled out the repair request online, 2 days later Sage responded with that falls under full warranty repair. I shipped it to them, had the rod back in under 3 weeks repaired and ready to go, no cost to me.

I visit the staff at TFO in Calgary far too often. (Almost yearly). Excellent service and a few good deals if you’re looking to upgrade.

Have a 5wt and a 9wt and a 10wt in TFO. The 9 & 10 both had breaks on a trip to QCI. 10wt was just a tip which I likely should have replaced before I went, I knew I'd pranged it with a big weighted fly about 3 wks previous. That was 25.00 at the time (2004 or 5), when Springbrook was still handling them. The 9 wt had stuck together wrong, and would not come apart, 3 of us trying on it, so I made it shorter in two places, cost me 50 bucks to replace the rod, which got upgraded to a Lefty Kreh to boot.
