Weatherby 307?

I was looking around Weatherbys website and noticed this new model of rifle. Was curious as to what everyone else thought of it

It looks like yet another 700 clone, so the same advantages and disadvantages, as the other 700 clones.

nice looking gun i think. they also released a new line called the apex which hits all the right boxes. i do like the adjustable cheek riser on the 307 tho

I am thinking they might end up dropping the Vanguard line if sales are good.

Not sure if I was in charge I'd ever drop the vanguard line. It is a success story any way you measure it ..... quality at a mid-entry level price point, accuracy out of the box, excellent reputation, etc...

They seem to be wanting to bring manufacturing back in house. I hope they expand the chamberings and add a 270 and 7mm Wby.

I've seen a few Apexs. Haven't had a chance to hold them yet. They look pretty interesting till you see the price tag in comparison to the accumark.
The thin I noticed with the 307 was the lack of 0.308+ caliber chamberings

I bought one in 7mm Rem Mag at CSC a couple months ago. Love it so far. Was getting 1/2 MOA just breaking the barrel in

They fixed what was historically wrong with the rem 700. And did a pretty good job of it at a ok price point. But nothing beyond what was already out there. I wonder if action availability in the US is/was driving this project…they released the builders action immediately. There are a lot of small companies making 700ish actions but ordering exactly the one you want online today has been difficult, and that’s what people expect nowadays. Weatherby is big enough to provide that.

For factory rifles, I like what they did with the 6 lug MKV ultralights better, but the prices are silly.
