Default Scopes, rings,bases

Trying to scope a new Win M70 30-06. Why is it that stores have scopes but not corresponding rings and bases. I find the Leupold I want in one store, but no Leupold rings. Another store has bases but no rings. I am tempted to just buy either Talley integrated lightweights, or Leupold back country integrated. Any one with experience with either and if not, steel or aluminum bases (weaver style cross slots), does it really matter if its Warne, Leupold, Burris etc ?

I use Talley on my rifles with zero issues.

Other than when I need a rail for proper scope placement, I use Talleys on all of my rifles.

I use a LOT of different rings and bases. For really easy at home mounting, Burris Signature Zee rings with the plastic inserts are hard to beat. No lapping, NEVER a ring mark on a scope, hold scope tight even on big boomers. Sako OEM rings also have the plastic inserts but they are 4 times the price of Burris.

Talley makes great rings, use quite a few. Leupold and most other steel rings, need to be lapped and aligned to ensure stress free mounting and no ring marks. I lap every set of steel rings before using them, factory Ruger Rings are probably the very worst for needing to be lapped. I HATE rings marks on a scope.
