Default (Possible) Raw Bear Hide Give Away

Hey y’all,

New to the forum. I’m going on my first AB bear hunt in the next few weeks and I’m just testing the waters to see if anyone on here would like a raw bear hide (skull and paws in) before I contact a tannery and see if they’d take one. (Assuming I get one… I know big assumption)

I’ve bear hunted a few times before and done alright but I wouldn’t call myself much of a bear hunter but I rather be prepared than not if I do get a bear.

If anyone’s interested let me know. I’m in the Calgary area.

Thanks,
Lusk

Default Bear meat

Are you going to eat the bear. If not why are you going to kill one. I am not a anti- hunting person, as I have killed several, but each for a reason.

I've sold bear hides to taxidermists before.
They use them for patch material for mounts where slippage or rubbing needs to be covered.
Large or good colour qualities are sold as rugs.

Yes I’m going to eat the bear, it’s quite good. I just have no desire in getting a rug made.

Thanks for the info Battle Rat, I’ll keep that in mind. I just prefer to give the hide to someone on here and thankfully a forum user has reached out stating they’ll take it if I’m lucky.
