Default AirPods for hearing aids??

The hearing aid thread got me thinking.
Occasionally I could use a little help in group conversations.
I was wondering with the AirPods being pretty common and they look like they’d be quite convenient to pop in when needed.

Anybody use them as a hearing aid?

Thanks

Interesting question. Didn’t think it possible but I was wrong.

That said… I find wearing AirPods for more than a couple hours to be uncomfortable.

I’m hoping not to need them for years to come as it’s so frustrating to be charged thousands of dollars for a product whose parts cost $7.

Question. You don’t have any health insurance coverage to get actual hearing aids?

There is also some coverage in Alberta via public health.

It is possible through your phones settings. It likely wouldn’t work that well if your phone was in your pocket though.

It can work but not so much like hearing aids where the sound frequencies can be tweaked for your own specific needs. it would be more like a volume increase is all. I tried it and didn't work for me but YMMV...

Thanks, I rarely need something and thought maybe I’d get a pair for tunes that would double as hearing aids. That would be quick and easy to pop in when needed.
Guess I’ll probably scrap that idea and make an appointment with the hearing folks at Costco one day.

Thanks to all.
Ps, I do have coverage from work so actual aids will be covered.
