I can’t disagree with that document from my eye test and the places I’ve been this winter. Could use a good spring dump around central AB. Looks like the Peace could use one also.

Yes agree we could use more in the central zone as tge map indicates, we had a couple weeks of very foggy weather in January so if the old wives tale regarding moisture after heavy fog holds true we should get a good dump the end of March or early April. Lots in the yard and bush but the stubble still isn't full yet.

More important than snow pack is a nice slow melt. If the melt runs off frozen ground, it won't do much good. If it melts slowly and sinks into the thawing ground, there is ground moisture.

Usually we get a million dollar snowfall end of April when the fields are bare and sun has softened the ground. That wet snow really sinks in the ground and is critical for germination after seeding.

All the same, it is good news and lets hope it gets better.
