What type of hunting are you doing?

Stationary or hiking/exertion?

Hard to believe the lack of options in Cabela’s in Edmonton. Massive empty floor space where the insulated pants and jackets used to be. Has to be expensive to pay for that floor space with no inventory to sell there.
I personally have had good luck with First Lite stuff although it is overpriced and over marketed. Under Armour has kept me very warm except the zippers are beyond garbage and if it doesn’t close it Doesn’t work.
I went to a snowboard clothes store finally for my last set of insulated, waterproof hunting pants.

Cabela's South of town has changed the location of its ammo clothing, it is now in a separate room right by the boating stuff FYI. They have decent stuff in there, the usual, Sitka, Cabela's and Redhead.

Yup, the North end one moved the camo to the old Bargain Cave room as well.

Not sure I like it. Seems to be a narrower selection of late.

Jim-Bow's (Edmonton) has a room dedicated to Sitka wear - one of the biggest selections I've seen in any store to date. I can just feel my wallet clench when I walk in there.

I really don't have any really special hunting clothes, I just wear what I do every day - except for the chaps , of course!

It depends if you’re moving or sitting

Wool, down or fur is my choice when moving. When sitting something
G like a heater suit will be a big asset.

German + Swedish wool pants neither lasted with the leather dog collars on the ankles to keep out snow. Also fit like a flour sack.
