Of course we also need our Borscht, love soup for lunch on those cool days, just cranked out a double batch this morning, still have lots of beets so may have to do another batch

^^ Nothing fills you up and warms you up better than a steaming bowl of hot borscht! With a few shots of vodka and a few chunks of salo( type of a bacon) and a rye bread… yumm….

If your cooking is as good as your moose jerky, your hunting party is in for a treat.

Thanks, the moose jerky is good for sure, glad you enjoyed it, I did a QA QC on the borscht for lunch today and it passed

When I started working for a lumber yard back in BC a few years ago I came up with taking some of our contractors on a hunting trip. Apparently when you come up with plans, you also get turned into the camp cook. The trips have been anywhere from 8 to 15 guys and after the first year of trying to cook three meals a day for 4 days as well as trying to hunt, things got a lot more simple after that. I've been fortunate that on that trip now, we either have a dedicated cook, or we get pre-made dinners from a restaurant which is pretty much as good as having a dedicated cook. Usually its about $80-$100 per person for 4 days of top notch meals that are just in the tin foil bins and tossed on the BBQ or in the oven on low. Absolutely fantastic way to eat for 4 days.
