Question 360 Elk hunting suggestions?

Hello,
Currently we are on day 2 of our 3 day elk hunting trip in WMU 360. We have checked out the south end of snipe lake an some farmland north of Valleyview and so far have only seen one cow on land we didn’t have access to. Our group has 2 bull tags and a cow tag, and would be happy to fill out just one of these tags. Would anyone on here be willing to share with us any info they have for elk in the Valleyview/Snipe Lake area? Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

Did you scout the area before the season. Bear in mind that an area open for elk may either not hold many(most don't) or they are in a few hidey holes where they feel safe.

I don't know the area so cant help, drive around and see where others are set up. It may give you some idea where they are.Good luck elk are hard to find, hunting them is the easier part, killing one is a bonus.

That area has lots of elk, spend time in the bush early morning and evening listening for bugles and make plays.

You are in the right areas. I will be up there next weekend and will be in the same general areas that you described. You gotta get off the beaten path. Elk will usually be out of sight from their main feeding areas before the sun rises and come out just before last legal light. If you want a shot at an Elk you most likely will have to catch them heading to or from their feeding area especially if they have been pressured at all.

I did 2 weekends of archery and a buddy just got back from rifle opener, and nothing, not even a bugle, and we own land up there.
Can’t figure it out, the odd wolf on cam, one pic in mid Aug, but that’s the norm and we’ve seen elk.
