10 Years ago we launched our community website called
Slave Lake Post just before the big fires in Slave Lake. Our goal was to serve rural areas and small towns with an easy-to-use platform for residents to buy and sell locally.
Since then a lot has happened with big tech, Facebook Marketplace, Kijiji, and other US Tech giants have only become bigger and more restrictive about who can post and what can be posted.
It's been an uphill hill battle, Google kicked us from the banner ads program for allowing firearms. But recently we added
Crime Reports,
new buy and sell (weekly) publication, and local news.
We have expanded across Alberta and in many parts of Saskatchewan and BC. Because we were demonetized this work is mostly volunteer with some gracious donations (mostly from our firearms community).
Thanks to everyone that uses TownPost, and a special thanks today to our Slave Lake residents that have been with us since the beginning.
