Lesser slave lake east or west?

Good morning

My wife and I have a hotel booked for Friday and Saturday night this weekend in Slave lake which is at the far east side of the lake. I was thinking about fishing either Spruce point or Joussard areas on Saturday and then just around Dog Island on Sunday for a couple hours before coming home.

Do you guys think it's worth the drive over to the west side of the lake for Saturday?

Also, I have heard mixed reviews about cutbank for ice fishing...
