Just one more question. I applied tonight and got it all done. My understanding is that we will each get drawn at the same time and 2 tags will be given out.
How come only one of us pays the $3.83 fee and we both don't. That doesn't make sense.
If we are both to get drawn and given 2 tags should we not be paying 3.83 each?

Pulled some quotes (above) from another post and got me to thinking
I would like to add a few scenarios to this (just so I understand more clearly). Sorry for the length, but please bear (not bare
) with me.
~~~~~~~~~~ Scenario 1 Group application then Individual applications ~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Lerrooy applies via group this year (2020) (first year) with 2 other guys (we'll call them Bob, Mike). Pays 3.83 (payment per person = (1.28)). Does not get drawn resulting in the following:
P1 for L, (paid 3.83)
P1 for B,
P1 for M
Total money paid 2020: 3.83
Grand total money paid: 3.83
Repeat the following year (2021) with another group application (3.83 payment). Still not drawn resulting in the following:
P2 for L, (paid 3.83)
P2 for B,
P2 for M
Total money paid:
Total money paid 2021: 3.83
Grand total money paid: 7.66
Repeat the following year (2022) with another group application (3.83 payment). Still not drawn resulting in the following:
P3 for L, (paid 3.83)
P3 for B,
P3 for M
Total money paid 2022: 3.83
Grand total money paid: 11.49
The following year (2023) can each person apply as individuals (3.83 payment each). Bob gets drawn and L and M do not get drawn resulting in the following:
P4 for L, (paid 3.83)
P0 for B, (paid 3.83)
P4 for M (paid 3.83)
Total money paid 2023: 11.49
Grand total money paid: 22.98
The following year (2024) each person apply as individuals (3.83 payment each).
P5 for L, (paid 3.83)
P1 for B, (paid 3.83)
P5 for M (paid 3.83)
Total money paid 2024: 11.49
Grand total money paid: 34.47
~~~~~~~~~~ Scenario 2 Group application and adding another guy in later years and then individual application ~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Lerrooy applies via group this year (2020) (first year) with 2 other guys (we'll call them Bob, Mike). Pays 3.83 (payment per person = (1.28)). Does not get drawn resulting in the following:
P1 for L, (paid 3.83)
P1 for B,
P1 for M
Total money paid 2020: 3.83
Grand total money paid: 3.83
Repeat the following year (2021) with another group application (3.83 payment). Still not drawn resulting in the following:
P2 for L, (paid 3.83)
P2 for B,
P2 for M
Total money paid:
Total money paid 2021: 3.83
Grand total money paid: 7.66
Repeat the following year (2022) with another group application by adding on 1 other guy (we'll call him Joe who is brand new hunter so has 0 priority) (3.83 payment). Still not drawn resulting in the following:
P3 for L, (paid 3.83)
P3 for B,
P3 for M,
P1 for J
Total money paid 2022: 3.83
Grand total money paid: 11.49
The following year (2023) can each person apply as individuals (3.83 payment each). Bob gets drawn and L and M do not get drawn resulting in the following:
P4 for L, (paid 3.83)
P0 for B, (paid 3.83)
P4 for M (paid 3.83)
P2 for J (paid 3.83)
Total money paid 2023: 15.32
Grand total money paid: 26.81
The following year (2024) each person apply as individuals (3.83 payment each).
P5 for L, (paid 3.83)
P1 for B, (paid 3.83)
P5 for M (paid 3.83)
P3 for J (paid 3.83)
Total money paid 2024: 15.32
Grand total money paid: 42.13
~~~~~~~~~~ Scenario 3 Group with different applicant(s) (the guy paying), then individual ~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Lerrooy applies via group this year (2020) (first year) with 2 other guys (we'll call them Bob, Mike). Pays 3.83 (payment per person = (1.28)). Does not get drawn resulting in the following:
P2 for M
Total money paid:
Total money paid 2021: 3.83
Grand total money paid: 7.66
P3 for L,
P3 for B, (paid 3.83)
P3 for M
Total money paid 2022: 3.83
Grand total money paid: 11.49
The following year (2023) can each person apply as individuals (3.83 payment each). Bob gets drawn and L and M do not get drawn resulting in the following:
Total money paid 2024: 11.49
Grand total money paid: 34.47
~~~~~~~~~~ Scenario 4 Individual, then group, then individual ~~~~~~~~~~~~~
All apply as individuals for current year (2020). Do not get drawn resulting in the following:

P5 for M (paid 3.83)
Total money paid 2024: 11.49
Grand total money paid: 49.79
Main questions I'm looking to get answers for:
1. Is there anything in either scenario that is legitimately, logically, or procedurally incorrect (except maybe some poor math addition skills)?
2. Can you mix-and-match group and individual applications (year-over-year) or do you have to stay committed to one type for its duration until you are drawn under that code? I would think you would have freedom each year to chose application type.
2. Can you mix-and-match group application members (year-over-year) or do you have to stay committed to a fixed list of group members for its duration until you are drawn under that code? I would think you would have freedom each year to chose who to include/exclude in any given year (max 4 limit).
3. Can the person applying for the group in year 2020 be different than the person in the group applying in year 2022 (i.e. Leerroy one year, Bob for next 2 years, Mike another year, Bob again for a year)? I would think you would have the freedom to choose the applicant (the guy paying) for the group.
General comments:
1. I am not looking here for comments (although you can post as you wish) on how cheaply this is or it's only a few bucks difference, but I am more interested in the legitimacy of these scenarios. Has anyone ever done this?
2. Just an FYI: Over a 4 year period with a group of 4 applying for 5 draws, that could translate into 11.49 x 4 x 5 = 229.80 (via individual application) vs 3.83 x 4 x 5 = 76.60 (via group application). Savings of 153.20 / 4 guys = 38.30 each (almost cover a license cost)
3. No need to explain the draw priority value on a group application = lowest priority within the group (I fully understand that component).
Thanks a bunch in advance,
WB
