Default Old Man River Falls

Morning gents,

I have been reading Alberta's Trout Highway and Mr. Mitchell split's the Old Man into two sections (above the falls, and below the falls). Problem is, I can't seem to locate where the "falls" are. Would anyone be able to help me out? PM me if you wish.

Thanks!

Looked in my Southern AB BRMB and found the falls just west of the town of Oldman, north of the Gap Road, and east of Gap Falls.

SS

ETA: PM'd you a pic from the map book. Hope it helps.

The true Oldman river falls are upstream of the trunk road. There is also a set just downstream of the gap.

Thanks highwood. I didn't realize that there would be two sets called the same thing. Here is a pic of the map for both spots. I'm not sure which Mitchell was referencing in his book.

The OMR falls that most people refer to are the ones on the Upper OMR past the campgrounds.
The above falls section is pretty small water with much smaller pools... hence usually smaller fish.
I've never seen Bulltrout above those falls.

The below falls area is nice. Though there's lots of 'party flats' areas there.

Couple weeks ago a dirt bike shop from Calgary had a summer weekend party out there.

Took a bit to clean up. Found a busted up lounge chair underwater in one of the holes I fished.

Best to stick to the Livingston.
