Default Does anyone know of an Outdoor club?

Hey,

I am looking for a group or club of AO like minded people, or Veterans who like to spend time in the outdoors and shooting. Like a camp and shoot, Camping and ATVing? (hoping in time my family and I will get ATV's)
Or like minded people who all get together to spend a day of shooting and swaping stories? Family friendly of course. I rather spend the day outdoors and not indoors.
I live in South Calgary. I miss the Brotherhood of the military and am looking for something thats close to that.

Does anyone in the AO community know of one?

Might find a lead there ......

Did you consider skydiving? A good weekend outdoor activity, pace can be intense or relaxing, as you want it to make, with quality after hours time around the fire pit. Usually a few former and acting service members around. Entry investment is same as with any technical sport: coaching/rental/lifts, then some used gear to start, then - wherever it goes.

Cons: highly addictive -> expensive when addictive. Summer only in our latitudes, so if you get serious you start traveling south in winter -> more expenses. Also, another sport that "requires fitness without providing one".

Alberta Fish and Game Association.

They have local clubs throughout the province.
Most members are hunters/fishermen/shooting-gun enthusiats.
Lots of the local clubs are very family friendly....
They try to do things for conservation; encouraging-training the next generation of AO types;etc.

Can't help you with a club or anything like that but I do understand that after being in the military it is hard to relate to civvies and them to you. Lol. Good luck.
