Is there a multi tool that will cut cable?
I occasionally forget my cable cutters and I would like to have a multitool to leave in my sled that can cut cable.
Is there such a multi tool?

Not a real portable belt style one that I am aware of
The smallest is not so big that you couldn't leave it in the tool pack of a sled though

If you could still find a good quality fencing plier, that might fill the bill. I have a good one that comes in handy. I do however probably have 3 or 4 cable cutters as well.

That could be from 1/16" to 1/8".
1/16" is pretty easy to cut, 1/8" is more than your average Leatherman can handle.

Just tried a pair of Schrades on 1/16".
Would not cut it.

I would be cautious about the Gerber, as the handles and the actual pliers like to shift around quite a bit... maybe this model is different. But personally I would go for a more solid design.

Not really a multitool that he wanted and like Mac pricey. Can buy 2 - 3 reg. cable cutters for that price ----but it is multi that is wanted and I doubt it is out there for cheap

I suppose I could just buy a second pair of cutters and leave them in the sled, but I like the idea of having the tools on the multi tool on the sled as well.
Might be cheaper to buy a second set of cutters and a small set of tools to just leave in the sled.

As most of the multi tools go, they are not beefy enough to cut cable, but if they are they are pricy

multitool
I carry a titanium leatherman charge everywhere and it can cut up to 1/8" in emergencies, just not very clean. I wouldn't use it for day to day cutting, just not designed for it.
