Question Big Muley buck WMU

Looking to harvest a good sized muley buck this year, i currently have a good priority and can get drawn most likely in 337

However, i've tried hard and passed up alot of bucks to find any of decent size.

Anywhere you can recommend, i was thinking 232.

Do you get out and scout thru' the year????...remember you're asking a question to a lot of people who have done the ground work and know where they'd like to get drawn... have u talked to landowners in 232????...or anybody who hunts there????...not on here , but physically????

The 160s have some pretty big Mulies. Usually takes 4-5 years to get pulled. I'll get mine this year hopefully.

There's some bigguns in the south east zones, you just gotta put some time in scouting.

But i got some info from the landowner and hes actually on WMU 234

I looked up the draw summary for that unit to see how long it takes but its not there.

Strange any idea why?

May be a general area perhaps?

Default Wmu 234

Yep most likely general area this year. Last fall, it was a general area for mule deer.

Mule deer bucks and does were hunted on a CWD Quota License for the past 2 seasons in 234. This year there are no CWD tags issued in that zone - Antlered Mule Deer are back on the draw system and mule deer does are a supplemental 2 tag license with a two week October primitive weapons hunt as well. My priority is 3 for Antlered so it should be a go this fall.

i have hunted 163 twice now but not since the CWD crisis. 2005 was the last year and saw some dandy's. should have shot the first one i saw opening morn. still came home with a good animal. just do your home work and start calling land ownres after you find out your draw results. most will even help show where the game is if not familar with the area. friendliest place i have ever hunted.

234 is a darw this year for primitive weapons only for antlered Mule Deer...Oct.15-31...apparently the CWD cull worked well....

Ya, that's what I got out of reading that book too, Steve. Plus you get the primitive weapons hunt for the same antlered tag and supplemental mule deer doe tags. Whitetails are open in the same time frames in 234 and there are some big ones in that zone just never had the good luck to tag one yet.

This is my buck from 234 in 2007. I know that the mules there are now pretty skittish due to both the cull and the quota tags issued over the past 2 years. 202 is a really good zone as well. Last season I turned down probably 75 bucks that would have scored over 165-170 before I shot one that scored 194-7/8" non-typical on the second to the last day. Good luck!

If you look under the CWD special section it says its general.
