Smile River or creek to catch first bull trout

Hi there, I have caught thousands of Rainbow trout and many brookies as well. I know that highwood river has bulls in it but its quite the drive from where I live. If anyone know of a river or creek closer to Cochrane area where I would be able to catch my first Bull that would be amazing.

Does it have to be flowing water? I caught my first bull in Lower Kananaskis Lake.

Drive north on hwy 22 to Sundre and fish the Red Deer river between Sundre and Hwy 587 or Glennifer lake. A few places it is a short 10 to 20 walk to the river from where you can park. I use rapalas, rubbertails, and spinners. Sometimes I catch them when fishing with maggots for rocky mountain whitefish too.

Be bear smart. Good Luck.
