NSR sturgeon spots
My slight obsessions with sturgeon fishing started 2 years ago. Only now am I in a position to go I've got all the gear needed and knowledge. Except for one piece which is where in the hell do I go I live in Alberta Beach so I am a quick drive away from Edmonton. I was just wondering if anyone would be able to help me out a little bit with locations or directions to a spot ok the NSR. Feel free to private message me about any secret spots I'll keep my lips sealed guaranteed. Just lookin to catch some fish not screw someone over because I know what it's like to have your honey hole soon be flooded with people after telling a person or two. I would appreciate any help about locations!

Never caught a sturgeon. Honey holes are usually tight lipped. That being said, in the past on here when people ask, they are told to use google earth and try and pin point holes on outside curves in the river. After that, they are told to try Legends just north of Sherwood park. Hopefully someone pm's you.

I must be almost as old as you, 5:12 is usually when I look at the clock.
You should be at legends, I hear the fishing is good that time of day.

If you do hit Legends bring a garbage bag and clean up a little bit of the mess that's always left behind by the lazy ignorant fishermen. Good karma will come your way.

Lol! My inlaws fish there all the time. They'll set up the rods then my mother inlaw spends about 10-15min cleaning up.

It's actually a little bit maddening to see how ignorant our fellow fishermen can be. I don't go there anymore but I always filled my backpack up with pickerel rig packages, beer cans, food wrappers etc.
Sturgeon do pass through regularly though so if you don't mind a bit of trash it's a decent spot for sure.

Yup, it amazes me how people always have the ability to pack their trash there but rely on someone else to clean up after themselves. Laziness, ignorance, no respect, that's all it boils down to. It's not just how they act at the fishing hole, it's how they were brought up and how they live their day to day life..... Low life.

I don't think there's every a time when I don't come home with some old fishing line wrapped up and tucked in my pocket from other fisherman or a grocery bag with hooks line sinkers and cans. The thing that annoys me is when fisherman leave old led fishing weights.

The "forks" east of Prince Albert where the north & south Saskatchewan join. Best sturgeon fishing you will find anywhere!!!!

People ain't gonna tell you the spots. I've been fishing them since 1989. A pioneer of the sturgeon club early nineties. There are about 4 to 5 spots from drayton to elk point that I've caught them in only. Good luck

The problem with the sturgeon holes are they are nice spots where not to many people go if they are still hidden. Me and a buddy had a nice hole that we found 6 years ago we could go there and day of the week and maybe one other guy would show up until two years ago some one posted a picture of the spot on here and now at any given day of the week there are at least five guys there and the weekend is just crazy and now the garbage there is sickening. But like the others said they are everywhere not just in the holes. I've caught more in the straight slow sections of river usually ten feet and I look for the weeds that you can see just off the shore line and the seem to like those I've tryed every sort of bait and nothing but a gaint due worm seems to do the trick good luck and keep searching the river.
