Hey guys - went out to spray lakes this past saturday.. heres a quick recap
Location driftwood parking area - about 300m on the lake around 11 oclock if your looking out from the boat launch - set up the tent where someone was the previous day as it was my first time here.
ice was about 18" thick - and it was -25 out.
arrived at 730.. lines in for 8.. started out with combo of spinner and some different jigs... best bet was green/yellow small jig head with smelt ..
my buddy caught a white fish soon as his first line hit bottom on a spinner .. was the only thing that particular lure caught all day. ended up dropping it back downhole soon as we got it out.. .
...was the only one we caught all day.
Caught 5 trout .. 3 keepers.. (see the pics attached) .. we didnt have a camera or anything to see how deep we were.. but we dropped lines to bottom, and then 6-7 reels up and sit there..
there was about 15-20 other guys out there.. Also for what its worth, what a great experience to see the sled dogs running around the lake.. very cool.
we stayed from 730-2.. nothing after 1pm.. although people were arriving as we were leaving so maybe there is an afternoon bite ??
Hope this helps anyone else making the trip out.
