I'll be launching the Jon boat around 5am Sept 1st! I'm so excited I'll have to sleep on my back the night before! If I get any sleep at all.

Still to hot for me
I need that smell of fall in the air to make me a duck hunter. I'm helping look after 10 puppies mind you but "mommy" has been great they are all gaining weight, sleep lots and she looks good too.
When it gets colder in the am we'll be there.

I'll head out on the long weekend with my girls for grouse. Probably hike up unto the alpine looking for blue grouse and do a little cutthroat fishing at one of the many alpine lakes in our region. Rifle season opens on the 10th for us here in BC. Too bad I can't convince my younger daughter to shoot the 25-06, she says she really wants to hunt deer but she refuses to shoot anything bigger than the .410. If she was shooting the 25-06 we could be out for youth season which begins on the 1st. Looking forward to hunting season.

I'll be out with my brother south of Fort Saskatchewan hunting the local birds. Got the duck blind all fixed and cleaned up, going out to brush it tomorrow and re-rig some decoys. Been dreaming about decoy spreads and the smell of coffee and gun powder in the morning for some time now!!

Going to southern NWT with the wifes and kids and all for the long weekend. We'll focus on grouse and scouting for that weekend. Then, the moment the women and kids return home on Sunday we will turn our attention on moose and bear for an extra week. Should be fun.

I will be sitting in a slough Tues morning.
I should be able to get a limit of specs and maybe a couple of Canadas. With the duck hatch down in my area I am hoping for a couple blue and green winged teal.
Hopefully after the long weekend I will have a couple of field shoots lined up.
