Confused about game cameras
Ok, I don't usually consider stuff like game cameras but I just got permission to a sweet spot and I'm dying to see some of the animals hanging out. So here's some info.
I think I want infrared so no one can see the flash, I'm willing to have lower quality photos.
Since I don't think I'll do a lot of this stuff I don't want to break the bank and I'd rather buy two or three cheaper cams than one expensive one.
Cellular cams....hmmm interesting. This spot has good cell service. What does it cost to have the cellular service? Does it go on my normal cell Bill? Does one have to be a techno wizard to set them up? Any cheap options with these?
What's a good entry level (cheap) and reliable camera?
Any opinions are welcome..

Primos for me as I have tried a bunch of different ones and either got lemons or they were just coming into the industry and were not up to par...the cell ones can go either rogers or telus...some guys are running them on prepaid plans...check out Uway they are a site sponser and chime in on most trail cam threads

When I was first looking at cameras, I too thought that I would only want a cheapy. I was wrong, way wrong. Running cameras is addictive a hell!! Maybe consider atleast medium quality camera so you arent kickin yourself later for buying a piece of crap. Just a thought

X2
Deer don't stand still very long and when you get a picture of a big (or potentially big) deer, you can bet your as* you want the best picture quality.

I'm running Browning Strike Force BTC-5 cameras now.
They sell for around $130.00
They are smaller then most
They come in camo
They are IR
And they've worked flawlessly for nearly two years now.
The photos aren't National Geographic worthy but I use them to keep track of game not to make me money.
I'm very happy with them.
Mounted on an after market mount, (I'm not allowed to say which one) they are next to invisible. Without the mounting strap to draw attention to them they blend so well I've had hunters walk within feet of them and never touch them. In fact as far as I can tell they never saw them.
I know I sometimes have trouble spotting them even though I know exactly where to look.
To be fair it's not about the particular brand of after market mount so much as it's about getting rid of those damned straps.

Confused about game cameras
I second the Stealth camera Snap Shot mentioned. These are great cameras, won't break the bank, good trigger time, great HD vid, and stand up to the cold if you wanna leave 'em out after season.
Couldn't recommend them more.

I'm glad for you. I have two stealth cams you can have for free. But you'll have to pick them up in person. I'm not wasting another dime on them.

Old ones where terrible. No idea which model you have but that's still bad to hear. This exact model has been great for me. Tried it out and have bought 4 more since. Zero issues great battery life it's AA & has taken photos in -37.

There are a lot of good cams out there, as previous posts indicate. One thing you want to consider is Batteries. Make sure that if you get more then one cam they all run on the same batteries. My preffered choice is double A's (AA). Stay away from anything that requires C or D batteries, and run away from anything requiring 9 volt.

I have Delta 88s
Once was enough for me. No matter how good their current model is they have proven to me that they can not be trusted.
They knowingly sold absolute junk. They will never see another dime of mine.

X2 not sure about the new ones that Cody Robbins is flogging but the older ones were crap, way behing the competiton. I had green, orange coloured pics and misc light and dark ones etc and ate batteries.
I use the moltries and happy with them, really good flashes on most models. About anything in the 150-200 range is useful nowdays depending on brand.
