Default Target Shooting on Forestry Truck Lines - Calgary

I just got my first rifle this past weekend (Savage Model 11 .243) and am looking to find a place where I can sight it in and target shoot. I am aware that you can shoot on Crown Land in Alberta, but am having a really tough time finding maps of the areas. From reading other posts, and please correct me if I am wrong, you can shoot along forestry trunk lines as long as there is a backstop, and anywhere on crown land as long as you are aware of your surroundings and have permission from the owner if it is leased. I was thinking of downloading the iHunter Alberta app that would show where hunting is allowed and at what times....would it also be safe to assume that I could target shoot at these areas as well? If anyone has any directions to decent areas that would be much appreciated!

Thanks fish_e_o ! Good maps on there...does anyone else know any more info about shooting on the forestry trunk road along a cut line? Is there a minimum distance you need to be away from the road?
