Default Any Tricks to Make Your Snares Faster?

I have all of my snares and extensions boiled in baking soda and boiled a second time to remove any excess. While the weather is warm and I have the time, I was wondering if there is anything that I could/should do to make my snares close faster. They came loaded so that doesn't need to be done.

No, me neither. I'm just going to confirm that they are loaded right and maybe work them back and forth a couple of times. I think that I've got it sorted out now.

If you really aren't happy with they way they close you could try loading them a bit more, you could rub them down with fine steel wool, (be aware, this adds scent to them) Or you could wax them.

The trick to waxing a snare is to get as thin a film of wax on them as possible.
I preheat my snares and then dip them in the hottest wax I can safely use.

If using hotter then normal wax bothers you, you might be able to thin the wax with a heat gun, after application.

Whatever you do will add un-natural scent. Treat accordingly.

What I do is hang my snares in a spruce tree for a couple of weeks before I want to use them. But I live in the country and I have Spruce trees in my yard.
If you don't have a spruce tree handy you might have to come up with another solution.

I like to boil mine in twigs and leaves. It gives the cable a dull gray look. Camouflages nicely in the fall. Your loop size has a lot to do with quickness of you catch and where you catch your target animal. I have snares built for winter time too. Paint them white and hang them out for a few months.
