Default 460 rancher chainsaw

What a POS. I've ran it for about 1 hour and thrown 3 chains, and can't keep the chain tight. They say you have to clean the oiler holes every tank of fuel, which equates to pulling the chain. I have not burnt a full tank of fuel yet. It's going back to the dealer, and I don't recommend anyone purchase these junk saws. By the way I have ran trapline saws for 45 years and have never seen such a piece of crap, including a cheapo Poulan. Anyone else purchase on of these?

Bought my husky at Alberta Forest & Garden in Calgary. Love it. Paid a bit more for it there maybe but they're sales staff were most helpful & interested in my needs. It starts like a charm & have never thrown a chain in a yr of use. Works as good as the day I bought it. Maybe you got a dud. Every brand gets one once in a while.

Default Husky problems

Could be the chain. Anyhow, back to the dealer in Slave Lake this morning, and we will work something out. I've heard about the 'elastic' chains from Husqvarna, but never experienced them before. I use Husqvarna brush saws for brushing out overgrown trails, and they are awesome, however they are a few years old and the new ones may not be as reliable. I'm getting pretty gun-shy of Husqvarna now.

Default So far..............

Well, took it back to the dealer, and he was very good about it. Changed the chain and bar, with the understanding if it didn't work out this time, he would credit me what I paid for it towards a different saw of my choice. Now that's service you don't get very often these days.

I picked up the 455 a couple weeks ago. I have a stacked woodpile between 4 and 5ft high and almost 40ft long.

Had to tighten the chain a couple times as it wore in and also grease the end of the bar about 1/2 way through the cutting. Other than that, I had no problems.

Is it possible your bar got slightly bent somehow? Glad to hear you got good service.
