Default Nats. in LLB

Who's heading up to Lac La Biche for the nationals in Aug 1-10. It's during POW-WOW Days so it might be tough to get any place to stay.

The organizers say there is lots of space for primative camping near the site but you may have a hard time getting a hotel room anywhere now. We'll definitely be heading up to LLB with the "Arrow Dog" for the 3D division of the Nationals. Expect to see MANY archers from Alberta up there!

I am hoping to be there! Going to bunk with two or three other guys in town, at least that's the plan so far!

Just received notice from Nationals Lac La Biche that the Parkland Inn (host hotel) still has rooms available. Go to 3D Canadian Nationals 2014 website for all of the recent informaiton. Primitive camping has room for 150 at original site and lots more room at adjacent site.

Congrats to all those who competed and to those who managed to collect medals from the Canadian National 3d Championships.

I was fortunate to be able to collect a silver medal in my class after a couple of tough rounds and a very tight race. It is quite an exciting and nerve wracking experience to compete at such an event.

What a well run event and the course layout was top notch! Thanks to all the volunteers, event organizers and Archery Canada.

Thanks Neil...it literally came down to one arrow twice for me. The guy I was shooting with was first place going into the final round, he had a tough 4th round and I was shooting well. His final arrow was a 10x and to tie him I had to shoot a 10x as well....I manged to do it! Then when we went to the scorecards I had more 10x's to edge him out. We didn't know but a rule change stated that for a medal round x's do not matter and a tie must be broken by a single arrow shoot out!

We had both put our bows away and people were scrambling to find us . We had to do a single shot "Grand Prix" style at a target named by the judges and then we had 50seconds to shoot. ( in front of a bunch if people I might add)..I managed to sneak in a better shot on a Catalina goat from around 32-33 yards.

Was quite exciting and quite proud to come home with a silver medal. Was an extremely tight race and I managed to have a weekend total of 770 on 80 targets, edged out by the winner wth a 774.

I just looked up the results, found it. Good shooting. Glad you beat out Miles from MB, I used to shoot against him and he is a piece of work. Loved it every time I beat him haha

I had heard he was one to watch....on the final day I was up by 1 on him and I ended up shooting a 200, he shot a 199

They removed a target on one of out courses...a target I had shot an 11 on! So that 187 I scored was actually a 198....but everyone who shot from that stake had their score on that one removed. Made the guys who missed happy!

It was a super tight class.
