Default Starting into trapping

G'day all,

I'm moving from Australia to Alberta in September and interested to get into trapping. I used MB550 traps and lure for wild dogs, we have no licencing for trapping in Australia, but have several regulations/laws relating to foothold traps etc.

We trap here for pest control, there is no financial gain to be made, some areas have a bounty on foxes and dogs, but it's a few bucks for a scalp.

I note you need to obtain a licence for trapping in Alberta, could you advise me the best way to go about obtaining this licence and get into trapping?

Thanks in advance

I would contact the local ESRD office for the area you are moving to. I've attached a link to last years regulations.

Also you can check out the Alberta Trappers Association website for up coming courses.

Hope this helps
